SAMPLE COMMUNICATIONS LANGUAGE TO NONPROFIT GRANTEES
I am writing today with an update regarding DST's community engagement program and what that means for our community grants process going forward. As a recipient of DST’s corporate charitable giving, your organization is important to us.
DST and its associates have been giving back to the communities in which we live and work since DST’s inception in 1969. We are aware of the issues affecting our neighborhoods, and we understand that we all have a stake in making them better places to live, work and raise a family.
Earlier this year, DST launched a new community engagement program, called DST Catalyst. The purpose of the program is two fold: Engage our employees in the giving and doing process of supporting the community, and continue support of nonprofit organizations in the communities where we live and work. The grants from DST are designed to positively impact the quality of life in our communities in a strategic and sustainable way especially by investing in STEAM education and the youth and family services programs that support a healthy education and workforce pipeline.
Beginning in January 2016, DST’s process for receiving and responding to grant requests from community organizations will be handled online. This means you will no longer need to send letters to the company with your grant and sponsorship requests. Instead, you’ll be directed to a web-based system to submit grants for initial determination of eligibility and our committee’s further review.
We recognize this is a change, and wanted to communicate with you on this as early as possible. Over the next couple of months, you will receive another email with specific instructions on how to request grants and sponsorships online. Until then, no action required from you.
DST is committed to being a thoughtful, responsible and active part of the communities in which we work and live. Thank you for improving the lives of the people you serve and allowing DST to be a part.
