Give to The Community Fund

To support the campaign for northern Chautauqua, we invite you to give to The Community Fund. Whether you give cash, appreciated stock, or make an arrangement in your estate plan for a gift, your support of the campaign will help NCCF improve the quality of life in our region for generations to come.

Indeed, over the years, the most important work of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation has been funded by visionary donors who entrusted their funds to NCCF based on our long history of thoughtful stewardship. These funds collectively make up The Community Fund. The Community Fund supports grantmaking that addresses the immediate and changing needs of the community, economic development, service learning projects, capacity building, COVID-19 relief, and more. Unrestricted in nature, The Community Fund offers the greatest flexibility, allowing us to adapt quickly as emerging needs and opportunities are identified.

When you contribute to The Community Fund, you demonstrate an unparalleled commitment to our community's future and entrust the NCCF's leadership as your agent in moving our community forward in perpetuity.

We have seen firsthand the impact that these funds have on the community. Born of a desire to build on that success and increase the foundation's positive impact in our community, the Today, Tomorrow, Together campaign focuses on growing support through The Community Fund.

Establish Your Named Fund

Establishing your own fund is an effective and rewarding way to participate in the campaign for northern Chautauqua.

The campaign for northern Chautauqua is aimed at providing lasting support for the region we all love. We invite you to support the campaign by establishing a special type of Community Fund in your own name. These named funds, along with The Community Fund itself as an umbrella, are funded by visionary donors who entrust their charitable gifts to NCCF based on our long history of thoughtful stewardship.

Community Funds support grantmaking that addresses the immediate and changing needs of the community, economic development, service learning projects, capacity building, COVID-19 relief, and more. Unrestricted in nature, The Community Fund offers the greatest flexibility, allowing us to adapt quickly as emerging needs and opportunities are identified.

When you create your named Community Fund, you demonstrate an unparalleled commitment to our community's future and entrust the NCCF's leadership as your agent in moving our community forward in perpetuity.

NCCF recently celebrated 35 years of working hand in hand with our donors and community partners toward our vision of a vibrant, healthy, prosperous northern Chautauqua region.

In celebration of NCCF’s 35 years, we have lowered the minimum required to establish a named Community Fund to $3,500.

A named fund is a beautiful way to honor a loved one or create a lasting legacy in your community for your family. Call our office today at 716-366-4892 or email nccf@nccfoundation.org for more information on setting up your own named Community Fund.

Leave a Legacy

When you make plans to leave a gift to the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation in your will and trust, you are making an investment in the future of our region that will help improve the quality of life for generations to come.

When you work with the NCCF team and your advisors to establish a bequest, you’ll be invited to join the Bequest Society of Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.

We’re happy to explore a wide range of “planned gifts”–which simply refers to arrangements you’ve made to leave money to charity following your death–can take many forms, including bequests in a will or trust, beneficiary designations on retirement accounts or life insurance policies, and charitable trusts.

Charitable bequests are a popular type of planned gifts. You can work with your advisors and the NCCF team to incorporate language in your will or trust to leave a specific dollar amount or portion of your estate to The Community Fund at NCCF.

You can also name the NCCF as a beneficiary of all or a part of your retirement plan accounts or a life insurance policy.

The NCCF team would love to work with you to establish a bequest as your gift to the campaign for northern Chautauqua. Reach out today to learn more.

Arrange for a Matching Gift

As you consider your plans to support the campaign for northern Chautauqua, ask your employer whether your gift might be eligible for a corporate match. Many employees are not even aware that their company offers a matching gifts program.

Matching gifts are all-too-often an under-utilized charitable giving tool. Indeed, nearly 80 percent of the 26 million individuals working for a company with a matching gifts program are either unaware of their company’s match or lack specific information. And it might not surprise you to learn that 84 percent of donors are more likely to donate when a match is offered; and 33 percent would give more knowing that a gift would be matched and doubled!

Reach out to the NCCF team to learn more about how a matching gift can help you support the future of our region. We’re happy to help, and we’d love for you and your employer to get involved!
